On 26 August 2011 four students of class XI attended a Conclave at constitution club, Delhi. It was organized by Child Reach International. The conclave focused on empowering children with tools and skills and providing them a platform to act as ‘ Social Commandoes’, and strive to stimulate volunteering community service activities with less privileged children. It was a very good platform for our students. |

Mathematics in Qutub Complex
Around 30 students of classes VI to VIII from the Math Club went for an educational excursion to the Qutub Minar on 20 August 2011. The students saw the monument there as young mathematicians and not merely as the visitors. some important observations made by them were:-
1. Shape of Qutub Minar - Frustum of a cone
2. All the buildings in the Qutub Minar complex and the Minaret itself are Symmetrical and rae built with accurate measurements.
3. Iron pillar is cylindrical in shape.
4. The balconies starting from the ground floor decrease in diameter proportionally on each floor.
The students commented, " Being a member of the Math Club has its own benefit of fun & learning together.
An Educational Trip to Qutub Minar
An educational trip to Qutub Minar was organised for the Heritage club students of class VI - VIII on 20 August 2011. It was an attempt to show an example of Indo-Islamic architectural style in monuments of India.The children were awed by the Iron Pillar which is an example of metallurgy in Ancient India, Alai Darwaza, Tomb of Iltutmish ( made of white marble), Alai minar and the main attraction was Sundial which was used for measuring the time before the invention of clock. Overall the experience was really joyful and memorable for all.
MUNQS MUN - A learning experience
On 2nd, 3rd and 4th August, 6 students from St. Paul’s School went MUNQS MUN 2011, which was conducted by D.P.S Mathura road. There were 3 councils, ECOSOC, ADHOC and the UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL. 2 students, Arbab Ahmed and Ashutosh Dhewal, represented Lebanon in the Security Council, SameerSagar and Arush represented Rwanda in Economic and Social Council and Bhavini Soorma and Benezeer heena represented Rwanda in ADHOC . . It has been a great experience and they have had a huge learning outcome from this two day long simulation it has helped the students to brush up there debating, researching, public speaking skills and has helped them in making new friends from different schools .At the same time it provided them with an opportunity to express there talents in front of a huge audience. They look forward to take part in such events in future. As they step into the shoes of the delegate of that country and discover new things about the country allotted to them.
Hiroshima Day ( an inter -school event)
Seven students from classes X & XII participated in a peace program to commemorate Hiroshima Day ( 6th August). The schools contribution to the day was by spreading the message through music with A/V support and art. Students researched on singer & peace activist John Lennon and his peace anthem song 'Imagine'. The art students depicted through mosaic art the need for world disarmament.
NCC Camp For Girls
10 girl cadets of our school attended NCC camp organized by 2 Delhi Girls Bn at Delhi Cant from 21st June till 30th June. The girls were awarded 2nd prize in drill competition and in poster making competition.
CIET Workshop
A 5 day workshop was held in NCERT by CIET for school children on “Introduction to Television Programming”. It was attended by Sameer Sagar of X A and Benazeer of IX C. Mr. Umesh Mehta, on the first 2 days, threw light on photography, the skills and its aspects. Then the following 3 days were spent exploring the world of cinema and television, the elements of a movie and we were gifted a feast of incredible movies from different times and of different genres. And finally, we were taught how to appreciate a movie, and understand every aspect of movie-making.
